Introduction to Wireless Communication
We are living in a world where nothing is impossible. What was first thought of not even having a slightest chance of existing is now what we have at our disposal. The idea of communicating right through the air was not something one could really thought of as reality, up till the invention of Wi-fi, abbreviated for wireless fidelity. Wi-fi is wireless technology transferring data globally and allows one to connect to anybody in the world through their electronic devices. It is way ahead of the wired internet technology where one used to require physical connection to be able to use the internet.
Now, even smallest of the organizations work and thrive over this technology turning it into another basic necessity for your infrastructure.
However, the kind of advanced times we are living in currently, where every night something innovative and unique is born out into reality, the future of wireless communication technology is all the more startling.
Don’t you agree much that this is a time where one can just be sitting in any corner of the world and speaking to someone else living right in the opposite corner of the world, or more so, be operating their devices?
Future of Wireless Communication
The future of wireless technology is going to be unfolded in many more such unbelievable ways that were only thought to be true in any other world.
5G Network
There are countries still struggling to get going for 4G, countries like USA, UK, Germany and South Korea have already started deploying the fifth generation of mobile networks. The licensing and the complete commercial deployment will eat up a few years. This technology is a step ahead in swift transmission of data. While some aspects are still nascent and are undergoing development, the 5G network is supposed to run at a speed of 10 gigabits per second against the response time of lesser than a millisecond. The power consumption policies, standards and other regulations are still to be figured out.
V2X Wireless
The vehicles including the self driven ones are being taken up a notch in terms of being able to strike communication among themselves and the roads. To make them be able to exchange data, navigation and other information and services, the V2X wireless system will make all of it possible. The V2X wireless system can also run on cellular data provided it will have to be exposed to 5G data network for achieving full results. Though, there are still some protocols which need to be undertaken by the vehicles for it to be totally brought into rolling.
Internet of Things
Crazy, isn’t it? Well, not up until years ahead wherein people would be living in a ‘smart house.’ There are different devices that can be connected to one another like domestic appliances, vehicles that are self-driven, drones, applications running under the water, robots, etc. all of this has and will give rise to the Internet of things functioning on 5G wireless technology. A major chunk of investments are being done by the companies making this network and the Internet of things up and running.
LPWA Networks
The Low Powered Wide Area network functions for making Internet of Things applications work. This network will make the applications run with low connectivity but for devices only requiring more battery power. Sigfox, Narrowband IoT, etc are the current power efficient technologies being worked on for low powered battery devices like trackers and sensors.
Li-Fi
Li-Fi is Light Fidelity which is a commendable upcoming update in the wireless technology segment. Like Wi-fi running on radio waves for transmitting data and connecting to electronic devices, the Li-fi will run on light signals for data transmission at a speed much higher than WI-fi, i.e. up to 224 gigabits per second at a rate of 1 Gigabit per second. The security of the network relies on the fact that light does not transmit through walls, so hacking won’t be possible from any outlying whereabouts.
This short ranged light connectivity will surely be a lot faster than the WI-fi. However the limited accessibility, the security will be served.
The upcoming generation is surely more efficient, secure and improved with expectations stepping high up a step with passing years.
